Are you willing to accept His invitation?

All of us think about the past and probably most of us are concerned about the future. (Pessimism declares that you learn to face the future by dreading one day at a time.)

The most important thing for all of us is to examine our hearts.  God wants each of us to develop our talents and to use our opportunities.  By looking within our hearts and by listening to God, we can make the future powerful instead of “dreadful”.

As far as the past is concerned, we can bring our lives to God to receive forgiveness…we can learn from the past…but we need to cremate and not embalm those items that are detrimental to dynamic living in the present.

God is willing to help each of us…the choice is ours to accept His gracious invitation.

This is your hour...will you use it or lose it?

Today is the most important time there is because it is the only time in which you can act.  Yesterday is gone…tomorrow isn't here yet…so today holds the key to opportunities.

“Time is the most valuable thing that we can spend.”
Thomas Edison

To condition yourself to spend time wisely:
Set a goal to do something worthwhile.
There are all sorts of needs around you.
God will help if given the opportunity.

THIS IS YOUR HOUR…USE IT WISELY!

What group are you in?

“Focus on your abilities rather than your limitations.”

Whenever you feel insignificant, remember how important you are to God.  Your abilities stem from the gifts that He has bestowed upon you.

CONSIDER THESE GIFTS FROM GOD:

1.      You are created in HIS image.

2.      You can think.

3.      You can imagine and dream.

4.      You have Today.

5.      You have some opportunities.

There are those who DREAM…those who DO and THOSE WHO DO BOTH…let us join the third group!

Are you willing to deal with the question mark?

The question mark is the coat of arms of the human race.

FIVE QUESTIONS FOR EACH OF US TO ASK:

1.      When is the last time that I did a “random act of kindness?”

2.      Do I see difficulties in every opportunity or opportunities in every difficulty?

3.      Do I see good in others or simply their flaws?

4.      Do I attempt to work through a problem or do I simply try to get around it and consequently never get past it?

5.      What could I accomplish if I were absolutely focused on what I feel is most important in my life?

HOW COMFORTABLE AM I WITH MY ANSWERS?

Are You Personally Responsible?

“We live in an age of specialization where nine out of ten specialists are so specialized that they have to recommend other specialists.”

You and I must remember that there are certain basic responsibilities that must be met on an individual level. They cannot be shifted to a “specialized agency.”

One of these is that I am accountable for the way that I use the talents and the opportunities given to me.  This recognition will prevent my becoming immersed in jealousy, laziness, or a hyper-critical attitude.

I WILL NOT HAVE THE TIME FOR THESE TIME-CONSUMING ITEMS!

What keeps your heart running through the darkest days and longest journeys of life?

Hope is the fuel that keeps our hearts running through the darkest and longest journeys of life.

BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES FOR THE CREATION OF HOPE

1.      God knows you…your predicaments, opportunities, strengths and weaknesses.

2.      God cares for you…He is patient.  He allows you to start again…to get up again.  He always sees the best within you!

3.      God is stronger than evil. Therefore, history, your history, is going somewhere with purpose.  The final word will not be disappointment but fulfillment...not defeat but victory…not death but life.

These sentences are punctuated into reality by the coming of Jesus, His life, His death, His resurrection, His kingdom, His invitation and His promise to bring all history to a glorious conclusion.

I am only one, but I am one...

“I am only one, but I am one;
I cannot do everything
but I can do something.
What I can do, I ought to do.
By the grace of God, I will do.”

Remember the daily opportunities:

Loss of a loved one is the same
            for all skin colors…
Financial problems can strike in
            any currency…
Natural disasters do not consult
            a map...
Illness doesn't look up names in
            the telephone directory…
And a cry means the same in
            any language!

Personal question:

“Since I can do something…
am I willing to do it?”

Motto of Success

Motto of Success:  “Don’t die until you’re dead.”

Everyday additional energy is added to the brain.
This means that you and I can be “more alive”
everyday.  However, this energy must be used
on a daily basis…it cannot be stored up.

Instructions for using the new daily energy:

1.      Constructive thought must be added daily.
Such thoughts are available to each of us
without charge.  Reading is an excellent source
of worthwhile thoughts.  Daily Bible reading
will always yield rich dividends.

2.      Give encouragement with both words and
actions today.  There are always opportunities.

NOTE TO HUMANS: These instructions will
prevent the embarrassment of coming to your
senses one day only to discover that you
haven’t any.

What is you "Happiness" Credit Rating?

“HAPPINESS” Credit Rating:

1.      Happiness is not something purchased…
it is earned.  (Until I recognize this basic
principle, my happiness level is below
       ZERO.)

2.      Happiness defined:  The dividend paid
for the investment made in the well-being
of others.  (This is God's definition and
       demonstration.)

3.      Happiness is determined:  A. The daily
calendar must be sensitive to opportunities.
       B. Seeking to follow the example of Jesus
of whom it was said, "He went about doing
       good.”

                    ALWAYS REMEMBER

All humans bring happiness wherever they go.
Some by coming – others by going.
              CHOOSE YOUR CATEGORY.

Are you a pessimist?

A pessimist feels bad when he feels good for fear that he will feel worse when he feels better.

George Bernard Shaw observed, “…that a pessimist is
the fellow who thinks that everyone is as nasty as
he is and he hates them for it.”

The pessimist makes difficulties of opportunities
instead of making opportunities of difficulties.
Pessimism is a constant threat for all of us.

TO OVERCOME PESSIMISM, REMEMBER:

God know your name.  You are not a number but a person created in His image.

You can do something to make your part of the world better.  It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.

You will find strength in God when YOU open your heart and your head to Him.  He will run to meet YOU!
