Dr. Trout is an 85 year young, full time minister of Community Service for the congregation in his birthplace of Ardmore, OK and a pulpit preacher for the Ringling, OK church of Christ and is deeply involved with the people of that area as well as the athletic programs of Ardmore and Plainview High Schools. (The Plainview Field House was named for him in 2000.)

As a minister for churches of Christ since 1946, he has served congregations in Albuquerque, NM, Lubbock, TX, Oklahoma City, OK, Dallas, TX and Winston-Salem, NC, as well as his current congregations.

During those years, he also delivered sermons and lectures in Africa, Asia, Europe, Bermuda, Jamaica, Guam, Canada and 44 states.   In addition, he has lectured to over one-third of the major universities of the Unites States with a basic theme of Christianity, Science and Ethics and was an international short wave script writer and speaker during the 1980’s.

As an after dinner speaker for the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce Goodwill Tours, he served with them from 1971 through their final tour in 1996.
He was Chairman of the Oklahoma Ethics Commission, 1973-1976 and received the Paul Harris Fellow award from the Rotary Club.

He and his wife, Gwen, have been married for more than 60 years and have two sons, two granddaughters and 4 great grandchildren and many, many devoted friends.  Through his many years of  speaking and writing, his only desire has been for those who heard and read his words to be lead toward God’s word and his heavenly eternity.

These mini moments with God will be brought to you daily.  May they bless you life richly.

  1. In the early 1970's at a small church in Dale, Oklahoma, a friend invited me to hear Dr. Trout. The combination of Dr. Trout's ability to quote so many scriptures without even a glance and my friend's faithfulness to read her Bible every night even when spending the night with me, spurred me to search for the Life within that Word. Here it is over 40 years later and I'm writing a book with the hopes to spur another generation to search the Scriptures for themselves. Thank you, Dr. Trout.
